via
books:
The Book of Merlyn, by T. H. White
The First Men in the World, by Anne Terry White
The Land of Stories, by Chris Colfer - It was fun to read and I enjoyed it; the ending of the book was a bit disappointing though.
The Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, by Elizabeth Payne
Grimm's Fairy Tales, by the brothers Grimm

film:
Doctor Who (season eight, as it comes) - I miss Eleven.
Merlin (last half of season five)
Bewitched (a couple episodes from season one)
State Fair
Robin Hood (season one) - It's fun but I don't think I want to watch any more of it
Downton Abbey (first bit of season one)

† Landmark Book

So, lots of school. ha. Oh, I finished a post about mind palaces last month that I'd been working on for a while, so you can go check it out if you want. ;) Did you read/watch any books/movies in September that you particularly liked?

I hope you all have a wonderful October! xx

    1. haha There's a lot of DW. :) Though that's not a bad thing, not at all. Oh, but, just a work of caution: There isn't a lot of Merlin, and Merlin is...well, I love it, more than any other film I've seen, so don't feel rushed to finish it. Seriously. I love it. :)

  2. I read some of Grimm's Fairytales a long time ago so I don't remember them that well; but your post has reminded me I want to tackle them at some point in the future! Thanks!

    1. Fairy tales are wonderful (really that word fits them well, come to think of it, 'cause they are 'full of wonder'). :) Oh, and, Jamie, you could also look up some tales by Hans Christian Andersen, as well some by Andrew Lang, theirs are my favorites. :)

I've been watching Red Band Society which is awesome. Reading Unexpected Dismounts by Nancy Rue, which is the second book in a series and I am in love.

I hope you have a great October!

  5. I really like these posts of yours. It's fun to hear what you've been reading and watching!

I miss Eleven too...but are you enjoying season 8? And man, I really really want to watch more Merlin. I've only seen season 1! It's not on the Irish netflix...

    1. haha Thanks, Hannah, I'm glad you like 'em. :)

I am enjoying season eight...just not as much as I did the previous seasons. I like Capaldi but his Doctor just doesn't feel as heartfelt and downright clever as Eleven and Ten to me, so far anyway. I'm hoping that will change. :) And of course this is just the beginning. :) How do you like season eight?

Oh, I love Merlin. :) Season one is good and it just gets better - the acting of Morgan, Coulby, James, and McGrath really matures throughout the show (esp. Colin Morgan's), it's awesome; and the script gets more and more intense....

  7. This is now a rather nice way to see what you've been up to. ;) ('up to' always makes me think of the fairies in Sleeping Beauty - 'member?)
btw, I found a place to watch tv shows online, and saw the first episode of the new Doctor - Oh my gracious goodness!! He is definitely awesome. (the part about the eyebrows!) And I do love Clara. isn't it just wonderful?!

  8. Awww, Eleven! :( I do like Twelve too though. :) The show's not as good as it has been in the past, but I've been enjoying it.

September was The Maze Runner month for me -- I read the three books and saw the movie, and count myself among the fans of the franchise! :D
