What if?

It’s funny how when we look back, to even just a few days ago, we see stories. It’s harder to see stories in the moment.  I love stories.  I think most people do.

At the end of a story a character realizes he was part of something, that he was important. Or, sometimes, we hear a story where the main character realizes he’s important before the end.  Someone who’s aware of his time, aware of great things around him, aware he has power to act.

What if we were to realize that our lives - that we - are part of the greatest story ever?

via
Since the beginning of time, a story has been growing and becoming more awesome every day. What if we were to realize that we are the characters - that we are important, that what we do or don’t do is important. That incredible things are happening around us?

What if we could unlock our minds from the boxes they’re trapped in? What if we were to fly up above those boxes to a high place - to a vantage point? A place where we could see.

We would see a story. We would realize we’re important.  And what would we do differently? How would we think?

What if? xx

Post-its

wise words
So, I'm writing a short story and have found it useful to write my ideas on post-its and place them in chronological order on my bedroom wall. It works well.
However.
My dear family visit my room, occasionally. One by one they venture in. They come in - look at me - look at the wall: see the yellow squares: move towards the bed, sit on the bed, lean towards the post-its. Read the post - its.
Continue reading the post - its. Continue to not stop reading the post-its.
And I'm just sitting there going:
'Hi.'
Yeah. I don't really mind the post-its being read; its when a discussion begins on why there's a piece of yellow paper on my wall saying, well, for example:
'the parting' (misread as 'the parking'; misread intentionally I might add)
or,
'a wise man uses truth, a wicked man uses memories, a coward uses fear...' (it was awkward).
Anyway. .....Lala.... Ah! MUSIC! Okay, this is a fun song:

'I Will Follow Him' by Little Peggy March

That song gets stuck so easily in one's head.

Ollo you wonderful people!! You are sincerely awesome. <3 Your comments are so nice.
Oh, look! I'm posting more music...who could have guessed?!  :) Mesa <3 music.
'The Substitute Knight' by Robert Lane

I may have posted this quote before but here it is again.
"It (fantasy) is not there so much to convey a meaning as to wake a meaning." - The Fantastic Imagination, George McDonald
...
I want that to be my...motto for writing, if there is such a thing. :) Hrmm.
Moving on....

Throwing knives is surprisingly fun. Le ( awesome ) bro. gave my sister and I his old throwing knives. He got some new ones...seriously shiny & cool new knives. (btw, I am not a bloody/creepy person, I just enjoy throwing knives, it's like darts) My sister and I painted the knives pink (with fingernail polish), so we can find them when we miss the trees. I lost mine pretty much immediately, actually. Le bro. found it. Did I not say he was awesome? So, working on my aim. Mostly just trying to get the knife to stick in le tree.

1 Corinthians 13: 8-13

"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

1 Corinthians 13: 8-13

Those are some of my very very favorite words in the Bible. Recently I've been realizing how...silly it is to argue about details when its the main points that are most important. We only see in part now anyway.
Everyone has a heart. No matter how broken or rotten it is it's there.

Faith, hope and love.

If someone knows those three things...loves them...and those are what will  remain at the end of time; what about trying to help the growth of those three things in a persons heart, instead of getting off course with details...God is love. I'm not saying details aren't important. Its just I'm a very tidy person, and I tend to over-organize, and over-categorize. And I think it can be very important sometimes to not over-do things.

Arguing doesn't do anything good. Listening does. Discussing does, just be so careful to not get off track.
I know I'm probably not making much sense. I'm just trying to sort out a thought in my head.  :)

Different

via pinterest
Do you ever feel yourself growing up? You read/hear/see something, and think something in response; and suddenly you get a feeling, and know you're different from what you were a moment ago.
Its so strange. Growing up like that...knowing you're changing.

Unstoppable Review

via
We watched 'Unstoppable' night before last, it was GREAT! It's about a runaway train on full power carrying toxic chemicals, and an engineer and conductor's effort to stop it before it derails (which would cause a huge explosion). Unstoppable stars Denzel Washington & Chris Pine, is 1 hour 39 min. long, and rated PG-13.

my rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Absent-mindedness/ Merlin/ Chesterton/ Still that girl

I get really absent minded sometimes. We had guitar lessons yesterday. Guitar lessons are always and only on Thursdays. And yet I spent the entire day thinking the next day was Sunday...just forgot about Friday & Saturday. I only came out of the cloud when I asked my mom which service we were going to at church. She gave me a really weird look. Yeah.

I poured myself too much hot water this morning for coffee...went to the sink to pour some out: I poured it all out. Yep. That's me. :)

Other things:
We finished the first season of Merlin. In my opinion it's awesome. I love it. Merlin and Arthur are perfect. I love Gwen. Morgana too (I'm dreading the day she turns bad). There are so many different versions of the King Arthur story that I really didn't mind how much the story was changed for Merlin. My favorite part of the whole show is the relationship between Arthur & Merlin. I love it.

Changing

I've been thinking about stuff (stuff is such a useful word), about how I want to change. About what kind of person I want to be. Anyways, I remember what I write down. I want to remember that I want to change.
I want to be humble. To be brave. I want - so much - to always listen, really listen. To pay attention. There's a lot more, of course, but those are the things I've been thinking about a lot recently. I believe people can change, when they want to, when they ask.

Bloglovin

via
So, I learned from Hannah that Google Friend Connect ends July 1. That means you'll lose blogs you're following with it...unless you follow them again with Bloglovin.
I made a Bloglovin account...and I already like it a lot! Its really tidy looking, and easy to use.

So, I hope you'll re-follow me with Bloglovin (though I know its kinda a pain)...I'd hate to lose you. I'd miss you. :'(

There's a Bloglovin 'follow this blog' button on my sidebar.

Random

Here's another song. Music is good.

Telling the World, by Taio Cruz

I believe that song is from the movie Rio, but I haven't seen it so I'm not sure.

my story- my characters need a new way of life

Okay, so I've been working on this story since I was nine. I'm fourteen now. That's five years. Five years is a long time. (Or it seems so to me.)

And no, I have not been 'thinking' about it for 5 yr.s I've been working on it. See, the thing about me is I can't write a story starting at the beginning and ending at the end. I need to know the entire story before I can write it. 'Cause when I write, I write looking forward.

So I've been working on this story for five years, and now I want to write. But I can't. Bummer.

I have got to learn the rest first. (For some reason when I make up stories it feels like I'm remembering them. Anyone else?)

So a couple nights ago I was lying on my bed (it was hot) and trying to figure out why I was having a hard time with my story. I tried comparing it to real life.

And I decided that it was the characters that were my problem. Now, I'm very proud of my characters. They're real (not really real). But I thought about it.

The way I think is by asking questions.  -And then answering them.

So. There were two things I found.

1) My characters don't live looking forward. And because they're like me (I am their mommy after all) that's stalling them. B.T.W., they do think looking forward; but they're thinking about the present situation. They hope, but only because of what's happening in the moment. They need to live looking forward. Like real people do.

2) Snap! I can't remember. Okay, shucks, that's pathetic. Next time. Maybe. I hope.

Words of Power

via
I believe words have power. They have power because they have meaning. (Thinking about words in one of those random things that makes me happy.)
There are so many words in the world. So many things you can say, so many ways to say them.

What do you choose to say?

Words have power.
(^ Another thing I want to remember.)

faces in dreams

via
This is so cool. Ever since I read this, every time I wake up in the night and remember a dream I try to remember the faces. And yes, they're all faces I've seen in real life.
Ever had the same experience?

xx

Things

It's funny. I've been noticing that when I write stories I use the same 'things' or pictures in all of 'em. Things such as,

via
dreams
-
hands
-
colors
-
words
-
eyes

smiles
-
light
-
water
-
stone
-
beginnings and ends....

And not just because they come naturally in stories, but because I put them in to describe stuff. To describe feelings.
Its so neat how certain words or things turn certain people on/inspire them. John 1:1, for example: "In the beginning was the the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.", it makes me so happy and full of energy to do stuff; to make stuff, to write.

What things turn you on?

a moment.

A moment can be a lifetime
and a moment can be an age
a moment can be reason to live
and a moment can be reason to die
a moment can be the most powerful thing in the world
- the greatest thing in the universe -
a moment
can break a heart,
or make a heart
--
a moment
the eye of time,
not bound by time:
in time.

Movies...

I like movies. I do. They're one of my very favorite ways a story can be told. (Which is why I want to be a filmmaker when I grow up.)
Anyway.
These are some movies I'm looking forward to seeing this year. Anyway, I hope I get to see 'em this year. Grin.

Oblivion, in theaters (I'm not sure about this one, but it looks cool.)
Star Trek, in theaters
Lone Ranger, July 3 (Maybe.)
Man of Steel, June 14
Thor the Dark World, November 8
The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug, December 13

Yeah.
What movies are you looking froward to this year?

P.S. M:I 5 comes out in 2015.  :)

George MacDonald

"A man is as free as he chooses to make himself, never an atom freer." - George MacDonald, Lilith
...
I wonder if George MacDonald was thinking of physical or non physical freedom? ...I guess I need some context to find out. ...Either way its a great quote. (There has got to be a better way to say what I'm thinking than 'non physical'...that just sounds weird...which is natural, as I'm typing.)

Life and Death

via

Its hard to understand,

The story seems so complicated.

But in the eyes of a child

- They know.

They feel love that is beautiful,
A love that is good,
A love that is strong,
A love that is true,
Forever.
...
Every hope hoped,
Every prayer said:
Its a life and death
Battle.

A fight for the right,
A war for the truth,
A fight for beauty,
A war
For Love.

Written by me last night (in the shower, where most of the thinking happens).

Le music is good.

via

Do you ever get a feeling in your stomach that you've got to do something; it’s a good feeling, like happiness is just spilling out of you, and you've got to do something, or make something, or write something, and you wanna make someone smile.
I've got that feeling in me right now, so I’m writing. So basically, right now, I want to do something equal to that happiness rolling around inside me. I’ll do sumptin. But right now, I hope you’re happy, ‘cause I am. And xoxoxoxxooxoxo.
Yes I’m crazy. Crazy is me.
And if you’re smiling that’s good.  And I’m glad.

p.s The picture because I love Wonderland.

Here's a little thing I wrote..

via
We held six stones one night,
One star shone in the sky,
Leading us east forever
Towards the rising sun.

We held four stones at dawn,
Three stones shimmered and died.
For when the sun rises the stars go out,
The moon dies in the dawn.

The old lights world is past.
The moon and its hope,
The stars and their promise;
They were only ever an echo.

Now the stones have gone
We've found the sun at last.
And seeing it we see a star-
He said the moon was hope;
That stars were promises
Of more than we can see.

Right before, we’ll trust him now.
And see old stones as suns.
